Senior Structural Engineer Wanted at Underwater Systems

Your Role

We are looking for someone interested in a fun and varied job as a computational engineer for our mechanics department at Underwater Systems SAAB Kockums in Linköping.

At Underwater Systems, we work with several exciting products such as torpedoes, mine systems, and various underwater vehicles (ROV/AUV). Our products are subjected to the unique loads and conditions of operating beneath the water surface.

Right now, we need to expand our calculation team. With us, you will have the opportunity to work with many different types of analyses. We perform everything from relatively simple eigenfrequency analyses or pressure calculations to advanced analyses of dynamic processes.

Our workplace is characterized by a lack of prestige and good collaboration, where we solve our tasks together. One of our most important tasks as computational engineers is communication with our designers so that we can solve design problems before they arise. The software used within the calculation section is primarily Ansys and LS-Dyna.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys performing many different types of analyses (such as heat, pressure, eigenfrequencies, vibration, shock). As a person, we see that you have an analytical approach and that you are proactive in your work. You take initiative and responsibility and can work both independently and in a team.

Desired Qualifications:

• Education as a Master of Science in Engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering or technical physics with a focus on strength. Alternatively, if you have an education/experience deemed equivalent.
• At least 3 years of work experience as a computational engineer.
• You are familiar with tools such as Ansys and LS-Dyna, or you have knowledge of equivalent tools.
• Communicates well in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English.
