Personal Assistant Wanted in Skara Area
We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a personal assistant to one of our clients in the Skara area. The assistance assignment is in its startup phase, and you who are applying for this position will play an important role in the beginning of this.
Who am I?
I am a positive man in my early 50s living with two cats in a house with a garden a bit outside of Skara. I have a strong interest in technology. I have been a radio amateur for several years, working with Morse code, as well as various types of gaming. Besides my interest in technology, I am a true animal lover. Family is also important to me, and my children often visit.
My disability affects my balance, coordination, and speech, which means I need support from my assistants with most things I do during the day. This includes help with transfers, personal care, and hygiene. I have various aids for transfers such as a wheelchair, turner, and stairlift, as well as adaptations in the bathroom.
At night, I use a CPAP machine that the assistant helps me put on at bedtime and keeps an eye on during the night to ensure it stays in place.
A Day with Me
A typical day with me starts around 8 AM. I usually begin with my morning exercises at the bedside, followed by a shower, brushing my teeth, and getting dressed. After that, I have breakfast downstairs. It’s usually yogurt with muesli and tea, but sometimes I crave a sandwich.
After breakfast, it’s time to start the day. This could involve answering emails that have come in or other tasks on the agenda for the day. We might go to a doctor’s appointment, tackle household chores, or go shopping.
One of my biggest interests is going to my office to do some radio work or sit at the computer before it’s time to start lunch. Lunch is usually at 12 PM, and I have a menu that we follow.
After lunch, it’s time for some more exercise. I enjoy going for a walk in the fresh air if the weather isn’t too bad; otherwise, I might spend some time at the computer or watch a movie.
Dinner is usually around 6 PM, taken at a leisurely pace. I often end the evening with some exercise and something else I find enjoyable before it’s time to go to bed around 9 PM, where I also do a final exercise session.
During the night, the assistant helps me change position, gives me water, and checks and adjusts my catheter bag and monitors my CPAP.
Who are you?
You who are applying for this position should ideally be a technology enthusiast, preferably a gamer! If you are already a radio amateur or have considered becoming one, this is your chance to develop that interest with me. I have previously been an instructor, so it would be great if we share a common interest!
Since I also have pets and am a big animal lover, you should be one too. Otherwise, I am looking for someone who is a problem solver, a bit clever, and has their heart in the right place, so we will surely get along!
It is important that you who are applying for this position have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as you will assist me in my communication with family, friends, and community services I have or need to contact.
You who are applying for this position should not be allergic to or afraid of either cats or dogs, as they are present in the household or often come to visit.
Since I live a bit outside the city where public transport is limited, having a driver's license and a car is a requirement to be able to work with me.
I also do not want anyone who smokes!
Offer
Passal Assistans offers a rewarding and varied job with good employment conditions, training, and wellness grants. Fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensation according to collective agreements. You will also receive good support and contact with the responsible coordinator.
