Your Responsibilities and Tasks

We need to strengthen the section's work in various areas, and we are looking for several employees who can complement the group based on their experiences and knowledge within all or parts of our areas of responsibility.

With this advertisement, we are looking for you who want to work with analysis and strategies for governance and support for preventive activities and emergency services, focusing on and analyzing the agency's national reinforcement resources, or equality and diversity. Your expertise will also be important for our other areas of responsibility, such as coordinating oil spill protection or supervising municipalities' activities according to the Act on Protection against Accidents and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.

Regardless of the area, the work often has an investigative character, and decisions are made after analyses together with both colleagues within the agency and others. The tasks include developing working methods, following up, and assessing effects.

The section is also responsible for a preparedness function that exists to support emergency services' management functions when needed. Depending on your background and interest, it may be relevant for you to be part of the preparedness function.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for someone who has:

• Education as a fire engineer or has other education and competencies that we assess as equivalent for the task.
• Extensive experience from working in municipal emergency services or working with these issues at a government agency.
• Good analytical skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Leadership training within municipal emergency services.
• Experience working with organizational development.
• Experience leading work or projects.

About the Employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your workplace will be Karlstad or Stockholm. Travel may occur in the employment.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security review with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are designated for military service.

About Us

In the section for directing protection against accidents, we currently have 14 employees, located in Karlstad and Stockholm.

The section coordinates municipalities at the national level and supports them with advice and information. We conduct supervision according to the Act on Protection against Accidents (LSO) and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods (LBE), and we support municipalities in their work with staffing part-time firefighters and in their work with equality and diversity within municipal emergency services.

Based on the national risk picture, we provide direction for the agency's national reinforcement resources and coordinate oil spill protection. We pay compensation to municipalities according to LSO and FSO, and coordinate the agency's emergency service support preparedness.
