SHIS Bostäder is Stockholm City's social housing resource.

Our mission is to provide safe transitional housing for established and newly arrived residents of Stockholm who, for social or economic reasons, find themselves outside the regular housing market. At SHIS, tenants live for a limited time, and our mission is to educate and guide them towards securing their own rental contracts. SHIS has about 220 dedicated employees, and together we manage around 40 properties with approximately 3700 apartments, supporting a large number of tenants each year.

The Position

SHIS Bostäder is now looking for security hosts who have the ability to create calm even in turbulent situations. You have a strong commitment to working with people in vulnerable situations.

One of the roles is a temporary position, with a fixed employment rate of 30% and a monthly salary. The temporary position initially lasts for 6 months with the possibility of extension. Work occurs at night, on weekdays and weekends according to a rotating schedule. Start date is negotiable.

We are also looking for individuals for intermittent employment, with hourly pay and working hours that vary based on need. Work may occur at night, on weekdays and weekends. Start date is negotiable.

Job Description

As a security host, you will work at night with safety and relationship-building tasks for our tenants. You will start from Södermalm and drive to our facilities located within Stockholm City.

You will be responsible for handling disturbance reports from residents and for noticing and reporting incidents. The work involves promoting safety, reducing vandalism and disturbances in our facilities. Together with your colleagues, you will create good contact with our tenants and others who visit our facilities.

Your presence and professional interaction with our residents and unauthorized individuals contribute to the well-being of many. You will collaborate with colleagues, neighborhood security groups, police, and representatives from local districts. In this role, you will report to the head of the Security Team.

Qualifications

You need to have completed secondary education in social sciences, behavioral sciences, health care, or equivalent.

If you have post-secondary education, such as a treatment assistant, leisure leader, or similar, it is an advantage.

It is important that you are self-assured, have high personal maturity, and can adapt your working methods according to the situation. Furthermore, good communication skills, the ability to collaborate well with others, and sound judgment are required. The work also requires good physical fitness.

We are looking for someone who has:

• experience working with the target group and in social work
• at least 3 years of work experience, preferably in security, social work, or similar safety-promoting work
• documented knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing)
• knowledge of or experience with low-arousal approaches or similar methods
• good Swedish (spoken and written)
• good English (oral communication)
• good knowledge of the Office suite
• administrative skills
• a valid driver's license (B).

In the recruitment process, you must be able to demonstrate your right to work in Sweden by presenting Swedish citizenship, citizenship from another EU country, or other documentation that certifies your right to work in the country.
