Nurse for Acute and Developmentally Intensive Medicine Ward – AVA in Startup!
Do you want to work close to the acute flow, make quick and qualified clinical assessments, and at the same time gain broad competence in a safe and developing environment? We are now looking for nurses for the Medicine Ward 4 at Kungälv Hospital – a department where acute care, learning, and development meet.
With us, you will find both security and pace, structure and variation, and colleagues who want to move forward – together.
We have a senior nurse function with clear clinical presence in everyday life. This function is part of our systematic work with patient safety, learning, and competence development, providing security for new colleagues and support and deepening for more experienced nurses.
This is Medicine Ward 4
Medicine Ward 4 is a broad internal medicine care ward in an intensive development phase. Today, we have 16 care places and are facing an expansion to 28 places with a focus on acute care ward (AVA).
We care for patients with:
- Internal medical conditions
- Surgical diagnoses
This means a knowledge-intensive, varied, and developing job where you quickly build a strong clinical foundation. The work is characterized by variation, flexibility, and the opportunity to gradually broaden or deepen your role based on interest and experience.
In parallel with the care ward, we are developing:
- MuTR – daytime activities focusing on medical assessment, investigation, and coordination
- Close collaboration with the hospital's other medicine wards, including HIA and IMA, which provides the opportunity to work across several care levels, follow the patient through the care chain, and deepen competence in more advanced care
Together, this creates a cohesive whole where several care levels collaborate – and where you as a nurse can develop and try new roles without having to change workplaces.
Your role as a nurse
With us, you will work in a team with doctors and nursing assistants, supported by a senior nurse, in a person-centered care with a focus on quality, patient safety, and good collaboration.
The work is characterized by:
- Acute and subacute care flows
- Fast care processes focusing on assessment, observation, and well-founded decisions
- Medical breadth and clinical assessments
- Clear team structure with shared responsibility for planning, implementation, and follow-up of care
Depending on your experience and interest, there is an opportunity to work regularly in nearby operations such as MuTR, HIA, and IMA – always planned and structured.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and who:
- Thrives in an environment with pace and variation
- Wants to work close to the acute but in an organized and safe context
- Is curious, responsible, and enjoys learning new things
- Appreciates collaboration and teamwork
You can be newly graduated or have several years of experience. With us, it is equally important how you want to work as how long you have done it.
Development and Education
We want you to feel secure – and grow over time.
Therefore, we offer:
- Individualized introduction (4–5 weeks)
- Frequent follow-ups with the unit manager
- Regular internal training in medicine and nursing
- Clinical foundation year for newly graduated nurses
- Simulator training and cross-organizational learning
Development with us is not a project on the side – it is part of everyday life.
With us, the acute is combined with structure, teamwork, and development – for those who want to grow, no matter where you are in your career.
Clinical Foundation Year
For you who are a newly graduated nurse/radiology nurse, a Clinical Foundation Year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. It also includes shadowing in other operations, so you can gain a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an investment made to give you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
Other
It is important that you apply as soon as possible as selection and interviews are ongoing.
Welcome to a cheerful and development-oriented team!
