About the operation

The Gambling and Screen Health Clinic offers CBT treatment for gambling addiction (gambling for money) and video game addiction.

Patients can seek help from us starting from the year they turn 16. Our mission is to offer treatment to patients throughout the Västra Götaland region, but due to the free choice of care, we also have patients from other parts of the country. Our goal is also to be Sweden's leading knowledge center regarding gambling addiction and video game addiction and to disseminate current knowledge in an easily accessible way.

Treatment is provided either individually, in groups, or in the form of internet treatment (iCBT). The treatments also include components from Motivational Interviewing. We work systematically with the evaluation of our treatments and combine clinical practice with development work, quality work, and research.

At the clinic, psychologists, social workers, and administrators work together. We have researchers and doctoral students affiliated with the operation, as well as access to doctors when needed. What do we offer?

With us, you will find experienced and helpful colleagues, and well-developed routines to support your work. As an employee at a specialist unit where we simultaneously conduct research, you will gain access to current knowledge within our specialist areas, gambling addiction and video game addiction, and work with your colleagues to apply this to develop care.

We regularly provide methodological support for MI (Motivational Interviewing) and allocate time for supervision. As a psychologist at the Dependency Unit, you will also become part of the active and engaged psychologist group that holds regular meetings and training days.

Job responsibilities

As a psychologist at the clinic, you will work with treatment regarding both gambling addiction and video game addiction. You will conduct assessment interviews, participate in treatment conferences, and perform CBT treatments individually, in groups, and online. Since we conduct research on many of our treatments, the ongoing work will also involve you in our research projects in various ways.

About you

We are now looking for a CBT-oriented psychologist for a one-year temporary position. You are a licensed psychologist with good knowledge and experience regarding CBT as a treatment method. You also see it as a natural and important part of your work to continuously evaluate treatment results.

It is advantageous for the position if you have expertise in psychiatry and/or addiction. If you also have specific experience in treating gambling addiction or video game addiction, that is an extra merit.

As the clinic is under ongoing development, we value qualities such as the ability to see development opportunities and take initiative, attention to detail, flexibility, and good collaboration skills. Personal suitability is of great importance.
