Job Responsibilities

Welcome to a development-oriented and dynamic assignment where you, as a business developer focusing on cultural and creative industries (CCI), will play a central role in strengthening and developing Malmö's business community. With us, you will be a key person in the city's work for sustainable growth, innovation, and attractiveness, with a particular focus on Malmö's position as a creative city.

The position is located at the city office, in the Department of External Relations and Business. You will be part of a team that drives new processes and development initiatives to strengthen Malmö's competitiveness and development capacity. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the city's administrations, the business community, cultural and creative actors, and other partners at local, regional, and international levels.

In the role of business developer, you will mainly work as a process leader and be responsible for initiating, driving, and following up on activities, processes, and projects within the cultural and creative industries. The focus area for the position may change over time based on new needs and priorities.

As a business developer, you will:

• Lead selected initiatives related to cultural and creative industries
• Actively and concretely work with communication and create forums and events
• Actively work with analysis, preparation of relevant decision-making materials, and handling of cases
• Drive application processes for EU funding and other public financing while ensuring qualitative project implementation
• Conduct mobilization activities, workshops, and collaborations with the business community and other actors

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in innovation management, entrepreneurship, economics, culture, business, or a similar related field
• Experience in project management, business development, or similar
• Extensive experience in innovation or development work within the business community
• Experience in concretely driving and being responsible for projects and processes with multiple involved actors
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in creating, communicating, and maintaining recurring forums, events, or similar
• Practical experience from working in any of the cultural and creative industries
• Experience with international contacts and collaborations
• The ability to build and develop larger networks
• Experience in handling cases, preparing decision-making materials, and/or other administrative functions.

The assignment requires a good ability to navigate in complex contexts where business, culture, society, and innovation meet. You work independently and in a structured manner, have a clear holistic perspective, and thrive in roles where relationships, communication, and collaboration are central.
