Alarm Technician
Rescue Service Storgöteborg
Working within the Rescue Service Storgöteborg means being part of a community-supporting organization where the reliability of technology is crucial.
Our systems must work, always. We are now looking for an alarm technician who wants to take qualified technical responsibility within security systems, low-voltage installations, and radio technology.
This is a role for you who not only solves problems but also prevents them.
About the Role
As an alarm technician, you will become a key person within the Technical Infrastructure unit. You will be responsible for the technical operation, maintenance, and further development of our security systems and low-voltage environments. The work includes both existing facilities and new installations, where you ensure functionality, robustness, and long-term sustainability.
You will work with advanced troubleshooting, system optimization, and technical documentation, and be a natural support in projects and change initiatives. Our environment places high demands on quality and precision.
The assignment also includes work with radio equipment, 12/24/48V systems, as well as soldering and component-level service. You actively contribute to strengthening internal competence and are expected to take overall responsibility for technical solutions, from analysis to final implementation.
On-call duty and travel within the federation may occur.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with at least five years of experience in qualified work with low-voltage installations, security systems, and system operations in production-related or other critical environments. You have a solid technical foundation and are confident in taking independent responsibility for operation, service, and advanced troubleshooting.
You work in a structured and methodical way, with the ability to analyze complex technical relationships and make well-founded decisions. Accuracy is a given for you, as is the importance of documentation and traceability. At the same time, you are communicative. You understand that robust technology is created in collaboration, and you actively contribute to an open and solution-oriented dialogue within the team and with other parts of the organization.
We see that you have a high school education in electrical and energy fields or equivalent competence through experience. You have a B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish and English. Experience with the security system Unison, radio technology, and documentation work is an advantage.
Why This Role is Important
The unit is in a development phase where the demands for physical security, robust infrastructure, and internal technical capacity are increasing. We see a growing need to manage more of the development and system responsibility internally. Therefore, this role is central to ensuring continuity, quality, and future development within our security work.
You will have the opportunity to work with several technical platforms and solutions in an environment where the functionality of technology is directly linked to community benefit.
Conditions and Security Requirements
The position is classified in a security class. Security screening with background checks will be conducted before employment according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Depending on the security class, Swedish citizenship may be required.
The employment involves military placement with general service obligation during heightened readiness. Alcohol and drug testing will be conducted before employment according to the organization's policy. Start date by agreement.
Selection may occur during the application period.
Being part of the Rescue Service Storgöteborg means being part of something bigger than yourself. We are the first in to solve the problem and the last out to secure it. We are an organization characterized by courage, care, and strong community. Ultimately, everything we do is about creating safety. That commitment permeates our entire operation and creates a strong sense of being needed.
