What is it like to work in the orthopedic department?

Do you want to work in an organization where you see the results of your work every day? In our orthopedic department in Skövde, you will meet patients with clear care and rehabilitation goals, where the progress in recovery is often noticeable.

This makes the work both meaningful and motivating.

We are looking for nurses who want to work with Skaraborg's orthopedic patients. We receive adult patients for both acute and planned care. The work spans a large area. As a nurse, you are the team leader for the nursing assistants in your patient group on the respective ward. You have the opportunity to work within specific areas of responsibility and also mentor students. The nurse participates in rounds, patient assessments, and medication treatments, as well as planning patients for discharge and informing patients and relatives continuously. The combination of acute care, planned surgeries, assessments, nursing, and rehabilitation is something our employees highlight as stimulating and enjoyable. We have a well-established working method where we work in teams together with all professions.

Workplace description; Orthopedic department 81/82 and 83/84

The Orthopedics Skövde consists of two wards and we are located on the 8th floor in fresh premises with a fantastic view; ward 81/82 has beds for orthopedic/ENT/eye/jaw surgery patients and ward 83/84 has beds for orthopedic/infection.

As a nurse on the respective ward, you will work with all patient groups, which provides broad competence and variation in the work. You will come to a ward with a good atmosphere - in both groups, we care for each other and the work environment is characterized by close leadership.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. You are a responsive, responsible, and flexible person who is interested in and has the ability to work in a team. Your working style is characterized by initiative, independence, empathy, and clear communication. Development work is ongoing in the organization. We would like you to be interested in and want to develop within our specialist areas.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. The Clinical Foundation Year includes introductory days, mentoring and training days, as well as observation days. The purpose of the Clinical Foundation Year is to create good conditions for newly graduated nurses to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and practice skills, as well as grow into their new profession.
