Temporary Medical Technology Engineer

About the position

The MT area is responsible for service, maintenance, and management of the hospital's medical technology equipment and actively participates in planning future investments. MT is organized under the central technical staff and consists of about 110 employees distributed across four equipment-oriented units and a unit for project management and business development.

Within the Anesthesia and Intensive Care unit, we work with technical support, service, and maintenance for almost all operations at Karolinska University Hospital. We are responsible for patient monitoring systems, infusion systems, ventilators, and other specialized equipment for intensive care.

As a medical technology engineer in Solna, you will have a varied and close working relationship with healthcare equipment in patient-facing environments. You will contribute to ensuring that equipment and systems function correctly, are safe to use, and meet users' needs and requirements.

Your tasks

Your tasks include both preventive and corrective maintenance, technical support to users, and participation in procurement and implementation of new systems. The role may also include risk analysis, training of healthcare staff, development projects within healthcare, quality and safety work, and technical advice.

The position is a temporary position for about 9 months and is located at our department in Solna.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in medical technology or another technical field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Good communication skills, Swedish and English in speech and writing.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with Philips patient monitoring
  • Good knowledge of how networks work
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory (Network Access Control and System Manager)
  • Clinical understanding of vital parameters
  • Experience of close work with healthcare operations
