We are now looking for an experienced and business-driven Strategic Buyer for a consulting assignment starting in April 2026 and lasting for one year.

About the Assignment

AxÖ Consulting is seeking a Strategic Buyer for one of our industrial clients for an assignment starting in April and expected to last for one year. The assignment is located in Huskvarna where you will be part of a larger purchasing team.

The assignment involves overall responsibility for the assigned category, where you will develop and implement category and supplier strategies in line with the organization’s overall goals. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, Category Account Managers (CAM), Business Units, and suppliers, both nationally and internationally. The role encompasses strategic, commercial, and operational responsibilities, focusing on cost efficiency, quality, delivery precision, risk management, sustainability, and compliance.

Your Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining category and subcategory plans as well as developing action plans that ensure goal fulfillment in line with the purchasing organization’s overall strategy. The role includes identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers as well as developing and following up existing suppliers through regular Business Reviews and supplier visits. You will analyze cost development, conduct benchmarking, and produce Should Cost estimates with the support of cost engineering and relevant tools to actively work on Total Cost reduction.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for preparing and conducting negotiations, managing commercial agreements in case of complaints, and ensuring that suppliers meet requirements regarding quality, delivery, sustainability, and compliance. You will work systematically with risk management, including financial analyses, Business Contingency assessments, and handling Last Time Buy cases. The role also includes administration in business systems, such as supplier setups, item linkages, and record maintenance in IFS, as well as establishing and communicating agreements within the organization. You are also expected to monitor market trends, new technologies, and relevant regulations to ensure a competitive and future-proof supplier base.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a degree in logistics/purchasing or a technical education in areas such as mechanics, and who has at least three years of experience in strategic purchasing in a relevant field. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and hold a valid driver's license.

As a person, you are business-oriented, analytical, and structured with a strong ability to drive strategic issues forward. You are communicative and relationship-building, confident in negotiations, and accustomed to working cross-functionally in a complex organization. You have a holistic perspective, a good understanding of commercial connections, and a natural ability to combine strategic and operational thinking.
