Job Responsibilities

Are you a chef looking for a fun and varied job where you can make a difference for our preschool children in Gothenburg? Then you might be the one we are looking for at the Preschool Administration, Southwest.

As a substitute chef, your task is to cover for regular staff during their absence in one of our preschool kitchens. You will be responsible for the daily operations within the internal service at the preschool. You ensure that our guests receive a safe and delicious meal while providing them with a positive dining experience. Your duties include preparing and serving appealing meals, preparing special diets, salad preparation, dishwashing, self-control, and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy. You will plan purchases and preparation of breakfast, lunch, and snacks, as well as collaborate with colleagues, unit managers, or head chefs.

You work independently and collaborate with other staff at the preschool to provide good service. You should focus on sustainability and work with environmentally friendly meals. For us in Gothenburg City, environmentally friendly meals mean more vegetarian options on the plate, reduced food waste, purchasing organic and environmentally adapted food products, and adjusting menus according to the season. You will have contact with internal buyers and external suppliers. We work in various IT systems for ordering and meal planning, and we provide training in these.

Since the kitchen is located in a preschool, you will have direct contact with children and educators in the dining room or departments.

The work is performed during the day from Monday to Friday, with working hours between 07:00 and 15:30.

We offer a job with great opportunities to influence and create a positive dining experience for the children together with the team!

The position is a permanent employment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least a high school education. It is a requirement that you have training as a chef and at least 2 years of professional experience from similar work, as well as good knowledge of special diets. To manage orders, you need to have good IT skills. We expect you to have good knowledge of food handling and food hygiene in large kitchens. It is an advantage if you have documented experience from working in large kitchens.

Since you will be interacting with customers and managing orders daily, we have high demands for your proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written for the tasks. It is advantageous if you are familiar with computers for handling personnel systems, email, meal data systems, and purchasing systems.

As a person, you are positive, service-oriented, and have good teamwork skills. It is natural for you to be the face of the organization and to focus on the customer. You are flexible and can act independently based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. Additionally, you have a good demeanor towards both staff and children and enjoy building good relationships with colleagues and customers. The position requires you to be flexible and able to change workplaces at short notice.

Since you are our face to the public, it is important for the organization and a given for you to be a good ambassador for the unit. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Welcome with your application!

The position will be filled subject to it not being claimed by already permanently employed staff. Please note that expressions of interest are only relevant for those who are permanently employed in the Preschool Administration of Gothenburg City.
