Project Description
The dissertation work will be conducted within the framework of the research program Future Social Work with Substance Use (FUSS): clients, care pathways, organization, and collaboration in a changing care system. The research program is funded by Forte within the framework of the call for applied welfare research. The aim is to increase knowledge about clients' needs and pathways through the care system to create more accessible and cohesive interventions.
FUSS is developed and conducted by researchers in social work, public health science, psychiatry, organization, criminology, and sociology. It is done in close collaboration with representatives from practice and aims to create relevant knowledge that can develop the care system. The PhD candidate will be linked to the parts of FUSS that deal with mapping the care system and its clients over time. The following research questions will be central: What interventions are offered to which clients, and does the supply and offer of interventions change in connection with system changes regarding organization, distribution of responsibilities, and legal regulation? What factors are associated with different treatment pathways and what outcomes can be seen over time? What are the clients' experiences of assessment and intervention, and how is the space for user participation in the care system perceived and described?
