Södra Älvsborgs Hospital is making long-term investments and focusing on the development of modern psychiatry in new facilities in the Psychiatry Quarter!

The psychiatric department encompasses adult psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry.

About us
BUP Borås provides care to children and adolescents under 18 years old with severe mental health issues such as depression, severe anxiety, impulsivity, and aggressive behavior, social interaction difficulties, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders. The clinic assesses, evaluates, and treats children and adolescents living in Borås, Bollebygd, Ulricehamn, and Tranemo. We collaborate with child health clinics, social services, schools, and several other partners in the field.

Our clinic employs doctors, psychologists, CBT therapists, nurses, social workers, special educators, dietitians, mental health workers, medical secretaries, and a unit manager. Patients coming to our clinic should feel very welcome, cared for by attentive and knowledgeable staff.

BUP Borås is currently in an active phase of development work, which requires commitment and perseverance. We aim to continuously improve our methods and strategies to effectively and optimally assist our patients.

We offer supervision, regular professional meetings, and opportunities for professional development and specialization training. It is important for us to facilitate the balance between work, leisure, and family life. Therefore, we offer flexible hours and the possibility to work remotely. The workplace is located in Borås, with good bus connections to Gothenburg and Borås, where the bus stops right at Södra Älvsborgs Hospital.

About our open position
As a licensed psychologist, you will work closely with other professionals at the clinic to drive and develop the unit towards set goals. You will be responsible for assessments, evaluations, and treatments of various psychiatric conditions. Together with other colleagues and staff with specific expertise and experience at the clinic, you are expected to stay updated on current knowledge and contribute to the clinic working according to evidence and proven experience. Your tasks will include supervision of PTP psychologists, psychology candidates, as well as other types of supervision for less experienced colleagues.

The position is a permanent employment within the psychiatric department, based at BUP Borås.

Your profile
We are looking for a licensed psychologist with a strong interest in child and adolescent psychiatry. You should preferably have experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Education is generally of utmost importance, and you are driven to learn more. You have a strong clinical commitment, good ability to collaborate, and reflect on yourself and together with us.

We have a psychodynamic, neuropsychological, system-theoretical, cognitive-behavioral, and medical perspective in our treatment work. You should be able to navigate between these fields in your work with the child/adolescent, their family, and network. We place great emphasis on integrity, collaboration skills, and personal suitability.

We also appreciate if you are interested in working with digital methods and have basic IT knowledge.
