Welcome to us

Within the LSS Housing area, we have group homes with individual adaptations for children, young people, and adults with various disabilities who need extra support in their daily lives.

Here, individuals can stay in an environment with a staff group around them that creates safety, continuity, and structure. The goal is to promote personal abilities and create as rich and qualitative a daily life as possible, while considering personal integrity.

Group Housing Dunkehalla is a newly opened operation where five citizens are moving in from another facility; so far, two citizens have moved in, and the remaining ones are on their way. The workgroup consists of about 20 employees who need to be expanded with support educators who contribute good knowledge within the pedagogical work. The group home is located in a beautiful and harmonious environment that provides good conditions for a calm existence, while being close to the city center. Close to the facility, we have city buses for those who commute and for taking citizens out.

Your new job

You will work closely with citizens in their daily lives to support and promote an independent life. Your tasks will include care, lifting, medication management, household work, activities, social documentation, and contact person duties - always with the individual's participation in focus. You will support a citizen in the residence to achieve personal development and stimulation. You plan, motivate, activate, and clarify to make daily life manageable; the work is tailored to individual needs. There may be challenging, outwardly aggressive, and self-harming behaviors that staff handle with low-arousal responses and clarifying pedagogy.

Your mission

As a support educator, you are responsible for supporting, guiding, and developing the workgroup within the pedagogical work. You plan, follow up, and develop the work with your colleagues, and provide support with work plans, documentation, and implementation plans. Communication and collaboration occur with relatives, colleagues, managers, as well as healthcare, schools/day activities, authorities, and property technicians. Together, you identify and create conditions for individual development and motivation for the individual. We are now looking for someone who shares our conviction that the intentions of the legislation and values are the foundation of everything we do.

Your qualifications

You are an educated support educator, requiring post-secondary specialization in the disability area with a pedagogical focus that includes at least 200 YH points or 60 HP. Alternatively, another education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Examples of YH educations in the field include Support Educator, Activation Pedagogue, Social Pedagogue, or Treatment Pedagogue.

You have experience working in the disability area, pedagogy, or care, or similar work deemed relevant. It is advantageous if you have worked with individuals with autism, neuropsychiatric, or intellectual disabilities. Desired experience in clarifying pedagogy, low-arousal responses, TAKK, or GAKK. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension is required for handling documentation, information gathering, and communication, as well as good computer skills. Good physical mobility is required as the work can be physically demanding. A B driver's license is advantageous.

As a person, you are responsible, creative, and analytical with good problem-solving skills. You have a drive for development and change work and stand confidently in your knowledge and in the operational methods. You are stable in pressured situations, attentive, quality-conscious, and collaborate well with others. Your personal maturity and pedagogical insight allow you to meet people with understanding for their perspectives and conditions.
