Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

We who work in the youth units have a strong commitment to the families we work with and to the area we serve.

Having the opportunity to meet people from all over the world in our work is both interesting and rewarding!

We are three youth units that, together with two children’s units, the family care unit, and the internal support unit, make up the area of Social Services for Children and Youth. Each youth unit consists of a unit manager, two team leaders, and two investigation groups of about six social workers. The internal support unit assists social workers through administrators, SIG coordinators/social workers with the police, school coordinators, and other coordinators.

We are now looking for four new colleagues for our youth units. The positions are permanent.

We offer

We offer an exciting job together with knowledgeable colleagues. Here you will find well-developed routines and a clear structure in the work. With us, you will have the chance to work on change initiatives in families and develop yourself. You will receive support from colleagues, team leaders, unit managers, area coordinators, and all our various support functions as well as external supervision. We care for and support each other, and we also value our differences and varied backgrounds.

Developing the organization and finding new ways of working is something we find both fun and important! As an employer, the City of Stockholm offers benefits related to health, quality of life, and security.

We believe it is important to involve and have good cooperation with the child/youth, parents, and their network. You will collaborate with other colleagues within social services, schools, the police, and other actors around the child/youth. We strive to meet the need for interventions at home.

Our employees and managers have a strong drive to find new paths and methods in their work. To succeed, we need more ambitious social workers who contribute their ideas and engagement. We need you here!

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Experience and familiarity with investigative work within social services, preferably with children and youth
  • Knowledge and experience of BBIC, Signs of Safety
  • Updated knowledge of relevant legislation.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working independently and has a good structure in their work. As a person, you are flexible and remain calm in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate and see the importance of building good relationships. We are looking for someone who is used to taking their own initiative, has an empathetic ability, and has a strong interest in working in a multicultural area.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Your application

We recruit without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the skills and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and succinctly to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV. The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thereby counteracting discrimination.
