Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers for Psychiatric Inpatient Care

In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Psychiatric Inpatient Care

The health and medical care administration's area of psychiatry consists of psychiatric inpatient care, adult psychiatric outpatient care, addiction treatment, and child and adolescent psychiatry.

The organization has a total of about 110 employees.

The mission of the area is to be responsible for providing psychiatric specialist care to adults and to provide care for mental health issues to all children and adolescents up to 17 years of age. Psychiatric specialist care is provided at clinics and/or at home, and when necessary, within inpatient care. The organization aims to offer a breadth in both competence and services, which is a challenge given that the catchment area is relatively small in both size and population. The vision is a shared person-centered value base that is expressed in both patient interactions and in meetings between employees and leaders.

On the ward, there are 18 beds. We who work on the ward are a competent and positive team with experienced caregivers and nurses of varying ages, professional experiences, and cultural backgrounds. Together, we work for good and safe patient care and a good working environment. A strong focus is placed on involving patients in their care. We are committed to conveying a humanistic value base and creating a good care environment for our patients.

We are looking for four healthcare assistants/caregivers for rotational work.

Your Responsibilities

The work consists of patient conversations, participating in and initiating activities with patients, performing nursing measures, documentation in the data journal system TakeCare, and regular practical tasks in a psychiatric care ward. Work within psychiatry is constantly evolving, and we continually strive for modern and innovative working methods. Therefore, participation in the ward's quality and development work is a given for our employees.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is an educated caregiver or healthcare assistant with a focus on psychiatry, or you have education from a vocational college or similar, with a focus on psychiatry. Training in conversation methodology and DBT, as well as knowledge of working with children and their families, is an advantage.

We prefer that you have previous experience working in psychiatric care. As a person, we believe you are engaged, responsible, meticulous, flexible, and quality-conscious. In meetings with patients, relatives, and colleagues, you are attentive and respectful. We are looking for someone with good collaboration and communication skills who can handle people in difficult situations and emergencies. We place great importance on your personal suitability, where a professional and personal approach is essential.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
