The Community Building, Leisure and Cultural Administration consists of the strategic department, property department, building permit department, street/park operations department, meal service, cleaning service, and leisure and culture. We are about 170 employees who prepare and plan so that the municipality's vision can be realized.

The position is located in the building permit department.

You will be part of the building permit department, which is involved in the municipality's building development and is responsible for legislation, advice, and supervision within the building permit activities in the municipality.

The building permit department consists of a tight-knit team of employees with different roles and backgrounds where we welcome ideas and learn from each other. We also have a close and effective collaboration with other departments within the administration and the municipality at large, including municipal companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a building permit architect, you will work independently with digital processing of building permits and preliminary decisions in accordance with planning and building legislation, applicable case law, and the municipality's own guidelines. Your work will be an important part of achieving the municipality's goals for sustainable community development while maintaining architectural quality.

You will weigh architectural issues, cultural values, and legislation in the building permit process to create good living environments with the ability to see issues from different perspectives.

You will support colleagues in design issues and provide advice and information throughout the building permit process both internally within the municipality and externally to the public and businesses. You will also have a central role in the municipality's architectural strategic work.

The role is outward-facing and involves many contacts with businesses, the public, builders, consultants, and other authorities. To succeed in the role, we see that you are a person who engages in clear and pedagogical dialogue, always with a service-oriented and professional approach. You meet people with respect, humility, and attentiveness, and create trust in every contact - via visits, phone, or digital channels.

You will participate in the department's work to develop our working methods in the building permit process to ensure the quality of our service and increase customer satisfaction. We work in document and case management systems NOVA.

You will come to an inspiring workplace located in Sölvesborg's municipal city hall, which is centrally located in Sölvesborg, just a few minutes' walk from the Travel Center. With us, we have flexible hours, wellness during work hours, and a pleasant working environment. There is an opportunity for remote work up to two days a week.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an academic education as an architect, building conservator, urban planner, building permit officer, or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant for the position. We want you to have experience working as a building permit architect, building permit processing, or other work that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have a strong interest in design issues and good knowledge of planning and building legislation, as well as good communication skills to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience or knowledge of cultural heritage issues and valuable environments.

You have a holistic view, consider multiple perspectives, and have a good ability to make trade-offs and discuss and communicate design and cultural heritage issues.

You understand what it means and have the ability to work in a politically governed organization and act professionally in your authority exercise.
