Blekinge Air Force Wing Seeks Airport Rescuer for 24th Air Base Company
About the Platoon and Its Operations
242. R3 Platoon is a platoon tasked with the daily operation of Ronneby Airport and supporting conscript training. The platoon also establishes an airbase as needed or facilitates takeoff and landing at an existing airbase at another geographical location. The platoon may operate from multiple locations simultaneously.
Main Responsibilities:
In your role, you will work closely with the rescue command to ensure the operation of Ronneby Airport at all conflict levels. This includes using machinery and equipment specific to airport and base rescue services to ensure the airport is open for takeoff and landing of aircraft while maintaining rescue readiness. The work involves skills development in military proficiency as well as functional knowledge in rescue services. Military proficiency includes exercises and personal skills. Functional knowledge includes skills training in rescue operations to handle crashed aircraft. Together with the rescue command, the team develops together in smoke diving operations and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) to ensure the airport's operation. The role means you are part of the war organization as a combatant. Your tasks also include participating in the wing's mandated activities regarding readiness and exercises, which may be at other airbases than Ronneby. You will also support training within the R3 function and assist with tasks within the company as needed. Evaluate and propose improvements to operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma with passing grades
- B driver's license (manual transmission)
- Approved physical tests according to AFS 2019:3 and a passed medical examination.
- The work requires good physical condition, which must be certified by a certificate of a completed test (not older than 6 months) regarding treadmill test for new employment (5.6 km/h at 8-degree incline) or ergometer bike with a load of 250 W for at least six minutes. You must also attach a certificate proving swimming ability of at least 200 meters. Full vision (with correction) and hearing are also required.

- Experience in R3 service
- Experience in field maintenance or rescue services
- Experience with construction machinery
- C or CE driver's license
- Wheel loader training
- Forklift license
- Driving license for off-road vehicles
- ADR training
- Approved position training in R3 rescue services
Personal Qualities:
As an airport rescuer, you need to be able to work both in a team and independently. We expect you to be a good team player and unpretentious with your colleagues, as well as to feel responsible for the tasks assigned to you. The position requires flexibility to handle arising situations both individually and together with others under stress. The tasks are varied, which means you need to be solution-oriented and possess good initiative. The position requires you to be meticulous, a problem solver, and enjoy having order and structure. The job varies from day to day, and you will participate in training activities as well as live operations in Ronneby and other locations. Great emphasis is placed on suitability and personal qualities.

Work location: Ronneby
Type of employment: Civil permanent employment with an initial probationary period of 6 months.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Working hours: Scheduled shift work with on-call duty and you will be on standby.
Salary: Individual salary setting
Employment: Start as soon as possible or by agreement.
If you lack military training, you will need to complete Basic Soldier Training (GSU) to be able to serve in a combat position under all readiness levels.
Travel for work and training at other locations may occur. Participation in training activities may also involve travel, and work may occasionally be conducted outside regular working hours.
