About the platoon and its operations
The 242nd R3 platoon is a platoon tasked with maintaining Ronneby Airport on a daily basis and supporting conscript training. The platoon also establishes an airbase when needed or facilitates takeoffs and landings at existing airbases in other geographical locations. The platoon may operate from several locations simultaneously.
Main responsibilities:
In your role, you will work closely with the field maintenance officer to ensure the operation of Ronneby Airport at all levels of conflict. This includes ensuring that the airport is open for takeoff and landing of aircraft using mechanical equipment and vehicles. The work also involves skills development in military proficiency as well as functional knowledge in field maintenance services. Military proficiency includes exercises with others as well as personal skill. Functional knowledge includes skills training in machine and vehicle handling in various weather conditions and environments. Together with the field maintenance officer, the team will develop skills in airfield maintenance and repairs to ensure the airport's operation. The role means you are part of the war organization as a combatant.
Your responsibilities also include participating in the wing's mandated activities regarding readiness and exercises, which may take place at other airbases than Ronneby. You will support training within the R3 function and assist with tasks within the company as needed. Evaluate and propose improvements to the operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma with passing grades
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission)
Meritorious:
- Completed conscript training
- Experience in R3 service
- Experience in field maintenance or rescue services
- Experience with construction machinery
- Category C or CE driver's license
- Wheel loader training
- Forklift license
- Driver's license for off-road vehicles
- ADR training
- Approved position training in R3 field maintenance service
Personal qualities:
In the role of airport operator in field maintenance, you need to be able to work both in a team and independently, with a requirement for self-sufficiency. We expect you to be a good team player and humble towards your colleagues, as well as to take responsibility for the tasks assigned to you. The position requires flexibility to handle emerging situations both individually and together with others under stress. The tasks are varied, which means you need to be solution-oriented and possess good initiative. The position requires you to be meticulous, a problem solver, and to enjoy having order and structure.
The position varies from day to day, and you will participate in training activities as well as live operations at other locations. Great emphasis will be placed on suitability and personal qualities.

Type of employment: Civil permanent position with an initial probationary period of 6 months.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Working hours: Scheduled shift work with readiness.
Salary: Individual salary setting
Employment: Start as soon as possible or by agreement.
If you lack military training, you will need to complete Basic Soldier Training (GSU) to be able to serve in a wartime position under all levels of readiness. Business trips and training at other locations may occur. Participation in training activities may also involve travel, and the work may at times be conducted outside regular working hours.
