The role of the personal assistant

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans. In this role, you will complete an online training about what it is like to work as a personal assistant. Together with the client and your colleagues, you will work towards good quality and follow the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for receiving information sent out by the head office and, if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other questions, you turn to your supervisor or the head office. About your role as a personal assistant with me

I am a woman over 60 living in an apartment in central Malmö. I use an electric wheelchair due to a muscle disease and need help in daily activities with ADL and all household chores such as laundry, cleaning, etc. I can perform some tasks myself, but it varies depending on my daily condition - you will assist with the rest.

It is important that you are attentive, responsible, and unpretentious, that you want to see and understand my needs. You work proactively, and we help each other keep an overview of daily life. Communication is key, and a positive mindset and humor are also highly valued.

I have a dog, and dog care is a big part of my daily life, so it is important that you are interested and willing to learn. We take courses, train, and go on long dog walks. An extra plus is if you have previous experience with dogs, but otherwise, I will teach you.

You should have a driver's license and driving experience. I have a car, a regular bicycle, and a cargo bike that you should be able to handle.

Where is the assistance performed?

The assistance is performed where I am, and your shift starts and ends where I am - at home or out in the city.

Job description

1 position on schedule 80 - 100%

The position has varying working hours day/evening, weekend, and awake night.

We are also looking for hourly employees and summer substitutes.

Requirements

• B driver's license

• Ability to ride a bike

• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written

• As the workplace has a dog, we require that you are not allergic to dogs

• Experience working as a personal assistant

Meritorious

We prefer that you have at least 2 years of experience as a personal assistant. Dog experience is desirable as there is an assistance dog. Also, experience working with a ventilator and cough machine.

Before we offer employment, you must show an unopened extract/digital mailbox from the police record. We also request a valid Swedish work permit, such as a passport or approved work permit from the Migration Agency.

We train our employees to ensure the quality of personal assistance. All our new employees complete an online introductory training for personal assistants before their first work shift, or at the latest within a month after starting employment.
