Sports Facility Custodian with a Focus on Ice Rink

We are now seeking a sports facility custodian with a focus on ice maintenance to join our dedicated and competent team in Malmö's eastern operations section. As a sports facility custodian, you will work with the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of our sports facilities. You will help create safe, well-maintained, and pleasant environments where Malmö residents can engage in their leisure activities.

Job Responsibilities

As an employee in the Malmö eastern operations section, you will handle a variety of tasks that include the maintenance and upkeep of the city's sports facilities in eastern Malmö.

Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that our facilities, green areas, and activity spaces meet high standards so that Malmö residents and community organizations have the best conditions to conduct their activities.

The work is varied and involves both independent responsibility and teamwork. At times, it can be physically demanding, which means you should enjoy working practically and outdoors.

Examples of Job Responsibilities:

• The focus will be on work in the ice rink, where you will be responsible for ice maintenance such as flooding the ice, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Maintenance of green areas, including upkeep and care of grass and artificial turf fields as well as other activity areas, including auxiliary maintenance.
• Establish and maintain good contact with associations and the public, and provide excellent service to our visitors.
• Handle fault reports and open and close facilities.

Working hours are varied and scheduled, including evening and weekend work approximately every fourth week.

Qualifications

We require that you have a high school diploma or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You also need a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle to work with us. You have previously worked in custodial services, property maintenance, or in the service industry. If you have a background in community organizations, either as a participant or leader, we consider it a plus. Previous experience in the care/maintenance of ice rinks is highly meritorious.

To succeed in this role, you should be responsible, engaged, and safety-conscious. It is essential that you are positive, loyal, and flexible and want to contribute to good teamwork. Since you will be working daily with associations, this places high demands on your service level and flexibility. We expect you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills and IT knowledge.

About the Workplace

The Malmö unit belongs to the leisure administration's operations department and includes six sections with a total of about 80 employees and six section managers. The Malmö unit works to meet Malmö residents with the same service throughout the city. We collaborate with various stakeholders such as community organizations, the events department, and the booking function with the goal of delivering high-quality service to all who use or visit the leisure administration's facilities. We are now seeking a sports facility custodian with a focus on the ice rink based at Rosengårds IP.
