We are now looking for a Control Application Engineer within Power Quality for a world-leading technology company at the forefront of the global energy transition.
Here, you will work with complex power systems, international customers, and technology that contributes to more stable and sustainable power grids.
Job Responsibilities
As a Control Application Engineer within Power Quality, you will be responsible for the control functionality in FACTS installations in larger delivery projects. The role is central to the project team and spans the entire project lifecycle.
You will follow the project through the entire process from bidding and tendering to design and implementation, followed by verification and functional testing. The work also includes system testing in a lab environment, including a simulator, before you conduct customer demonstrations. Unlike more niche roles, you will have overall responsibility throughout the entire project lifecycle from start to finish.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, and verification of power control algorithms and logic for FACTS devices
- Customization of base software to customer-specific requirements
- Combined testing of the control system's software and hardware
- Interpretation of customer specifications and participation in customer meetings.
- The work is performed in the company's control platform (MACH system), using graphical programming tools for application development.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an education in control engineering, power systems, automation, software engineering, or a similar field. We are open to both recent graduates and candidates with a few years of experience. You either have a strong understanding of power systems and good knowledge of how power grids function, or a background in control and programming, such as working with function blocks, control theory, or control systems. Proficiency in Swedish and English is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with power quality applications
- Knowledge of the MACH system
- In-depth understanding of control engineering
