We are now recruiting on behalf of our Client for a Senior Control System Designer (Electrical Designer) to their headquarters in Västerås.

They are now strengthening their Swedish organization with a senior control system designer who wants to help develop the future electrical power facilities.

About the Role

As a Senior Control System Designer (10–400 kV), you will work on the electrical design of control systems for substations and transformer stations. You will take responsibility for parts of – or the entire – control system and ensure that the technical solution meets contracts, laws, regulations, and applicable standards.

You will work closely with the technical project manager and other specialists on overall design, technical choices, quality assurance, and cost-effectiveness. The role also involves self-checking of completed work and reviewing colleagues' designs.

You will be involved in tender work, contribute to the development of technical working methods, and help further develop the use of design tools such as Eplan.

Travel may occur in the position, as well as participation in FAT, SAT, and commissioning.

Examples of Responsibilities

  • Electrical design of substations 10–400 kV

  • Preparation of:

    • Overview diagrams (single line diagrams)

    • Functional and interlocking diagrams

    • Product and facility circuit diagrams

    • Production documentation

    • Installation documentation

    • Documentation for testing and commissioning

  • Integration with existing and new control systems

  • Modernization and upgrading of control systems, for example in hydropower

  • Review of documentation from partners, suppliers, and subcontractors

  • Ensure that project timelines are kept within agreed frameworks

  • Support sales during the tender phase

We are looking for someone who

This is a role for you who have a strong commitment to the electrical power industry and want to drive technological development forward together with competent colleagues.

  • At least 5 years of experience in control system design for transformer/reception stations 10–400 kV

  • Experience working with control systems in areas such as hydropower or station projects

  • Experience reading, understanding, and updating existing technical documentation

  • Experience in modernization and upgrading of control systems

  • Familiarity with FAT, SAT, and commissioning

  • Good knowledge of Eplan, Master Concept, E3, or equivalent

  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English
