Your Role

Within the Armament & Reconnaissance section, you will have the opportunity to drive and maintain advanced technology that makes a real difference. You will help ensure flight safety while strengthening Sweden's defense capability. Here, your technical expertise becomes part of something bigger - safety and security for people both in the air and on the ground.

As a maintenance technician with us, you will primarily work on the maintenance of weapon and reconnaissance systems for the JAS 39 Gripen aircraft. The role involves practical work where you will, among other things:

• Dismantle and assemble various types of weapon systems
• Conduct mechanical and electrical testing in tailored test equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair, and make modifications to devices and circuit boards
• Perform soldering and replace electronic components
• Document completed work in various tracking systems

You will have the opportunity to develop and work independently in an environment where knowledge is shared and where we support each other's progress. The work is varied and changing, thanks to the many different systems we are responsible for. The team has extensive experience and deep expertise that you can both benefit from and contribute to - here we learn from each other every day. The position is based in Arboga. Domestic and international travel may occur in the role.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you need to have:

• High school education with a technical focus
• Experience in dismantling and assembling mechanical and electronic components
• Experience working from maintenance instructions and drawing documentation in both Swedish and English
• Interest in and preferably experience with fine mechanics, electronics, or electromechanical systems

Aviation is a regulated industry with high demands, and therefore you need to be meticulous, structured, and confident in working independently according to established processes, instructions, and documentation.

You have a genuine technical interest and a natural curiosity - perhaps you enjoy tinkering, soldering, or building your own electronic or electromechanical projects at home. That kind of fine mechanical and electronic sensitivity will be of great benefit to you with us.

You find it easy to read and interpret both technical and administrative documents, and you communicate clearly in Swedish and English. You enjoy working independently but also appreciate collaboration in a team where knowledge is shared, support is given, and different perspectives are valued.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may require certain citizenship.
