As a nurse in the dialysis unit, you will work with kidney patients who come for dialysis treatment 3-4 times a week, often for many years. The work involves close contact with patients and extensive work with medical technology equipment.
We believe in empowering patients by involving them in their care, and therefore we focus on self-care. We work in groups with nursing responsible nurses for patient-safe care of high quality.
The dialysis unit's opening hours are Monday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Tuesday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The work in the dialysis unit uniquely combines technology and nursing with independent work in patient treatment and care.
As a nurse, you are responsible for the patient's treatment:
- initiation of dialysis
- monitoring during dialysis
- disconnection from dialysis.
In addition to patient work, where each nurse has specific nursing responsibilities for a number of their own patients, each employee also has specific tasks aimed at improving the quality of care and medical management.
We expect you to actively participate in business development, take personal responsibility, and work together with us towards our goals.
We would like you, based on your experience and interest, to work certain shifts or a weekend per month in one of Region Gävleborg's 24/7 operations. This is to ensure that both you and the unit develop moving forward.

QUALIFICATIONS
We place great importance on personal qualities; you should be self-sufficient, flexible, structured, see the big picture, and have good collaboration skills.
In the role of dialysis nurse, you must be a licensed nurse. If you have experience working with dialysis, we consider it an advantage.
