JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse in orthopedic department 6, you can look forward to a fun, stimulating, and constantly developing job in an exciting area with many different diagnoses in acute orthopedics and urology. The department also conducts elective care with about three to four planned surgeries per week. You will be the team leader and responsible for nursing care for your care team with up to six to eight patients. As part of a team consisting of nurses, care coordinators, doctors, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, you will coordinate the patient's nursing and medical care. In addition to working in the care team, you are expected to contribute to the unit's development work and our common work environment.

As a nurse with us, you will work with:

  • nursing including preventive work against care injuries
  • medication administration
  • handling of medical technical equipment such as infusion pumps, VAC pumps, central lines, tubes, catheters
  • documentation and planning for patients during admission and discharge
  • information and education.

We operate around the clock, which means that as a nurse with us, you will work days, evenings, and nights. However, there will be no night shifts during the first year. We apply night agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an interest in orthopedic/urological nursing and a genuine interest and commitment to the well-being of patients. To thrive with us, you need to handle the varied everyday life in an orthopedic acute care department. You are skilled at prioritizing and re-prioritizing, can switch between different tasks, and can also handle a sometimes high pace without compromising patient safety and quality. You are responsible and can work goal-oriented and systematically. You have a pleasant demeanor and see respectful, attentive, and empathetic communication as an important tool in your interactions with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other internal and external stakeholders. You have a good ability to both lead and collaborate.

In the role of nurse, you should:

  • be a licensed nurse.
