The surgery department in Gävle consists of three care wards, a surgical outpatient clinic, and an endoscopy clinic. Here, there are specialists in urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, and endocrine surgery. Surgical ward 112K has 18 care places and a wide range of patients in the areas of ear, nose, throat, vascular surgery, and upper gastro. We have close cooperation with other units within the surgical area. At 112K, you will receive a solid foundation in the nursing profession and the opportunity to develop in the field of surgery, such as becoming a specialist nurse.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you will be offered a fun and constantly developing job within one of healthcare's most exciting roles with acute and planned patients. You will be the team leader for your care team and coordinate both medical and nursing issues in a team with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. You will also have the support of the unit's specialist nurse and care planner. The care team is responsible for six patients. In addition to working in the care team, you are also expected to contribute to the unit's development work and our shared work environment.

As a nurse with us, you will work with:

• blood sampling
• management of various drains
• advanced wound care
• negative pressure treatments/VAC treatment
• tracheostomy care/provox care.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a new or experienced licensed nurse with an interest in surgical nursing. To thrive with us, you need to handle the changing everyday life and be good at reprioritizing and switching between different tasks without losing patient safety and quality. You are responsible and can work goal-oriented and systematically. You have a good ability to collaborate and see dialogue as an important tool in contact with patients, colleagues, and other internal and external actors. You are flexible, have good organizational skills, and want to work in a team. We are proactive and constantly work on developing the business. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

In the role of nurse, you must:

• be a licensed nurse.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience working in surgical care and emergency care. Relevant specialist training is also advantageous.
