Rehabilitation Medicine in Sandviken receives patients from all over the Gävleborg Region. The facility focuses on patients with injuries and diseases of the nervous system, primarily brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and patients with chronic pain issues. The operation consists of an inpatient unit with twelve beds and some day care, as well as an outpatient unit consisting of a brain rehabilitation team, spinal cord injury team, medical clinic, and pain team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a PTP psychologist, you will work with patients primarily in inpatient care alongside doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, nurses, nursing assistants, recreational leaders, speech therapists, and rehabilitation assistants. Rehabilitation Medicine operates according to a behavioral medicine model for analysis and treatment. In addition to belonging to a team on the ward, you will also be part of a psychology group within the unit.

As a PTP psychologist, you will work with:

• assessment/screening of cognitive abilities
• neuropsychological assessment and evaluation of mental health
• psychological treatment
• problematic behaviors such as aggressive behavior, fears, behaviors that hinder rehabilitation
• supervision of staff.

You have the ability to plan and structure your work effectively, take initiative, start activities, and have innovative thinking with many ideas that lead to results. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, good collaboration skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently.

In the role of PTP psychologist, you should:

• have a psychology degree.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have a cognitive behavioral therapy focus and are interested in rehabilitation and teamwork. Previous work experience is also meritorious.
