Healthcare Assistant to the Stroke Unit at Kungälv Hospital

The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götalandsregion and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Ward 6 is a stroke unit at Kungälv Hospital and part of the Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation area.

In the stroke unit, we primarily care for stroke patients but also have patients with other internal medicine diagnoses.

Work Approach

The unit has 16 care places, and as a healthcare assistant with us, you will work with the acute phase of the stroke process together with nurses, doctors, and rehabilitation in interdisciplinary teams.

All patients in the unit have their own rooms equipped with the latest technology in the field. Here, we actively work to ensure that all employees from different professions are offered the best conditions to utilize each other's and the patients' resources and competencies. The unit is equipped with an advanced patient call system that contributes to a quiet care environment.

In the role of healthcare assistant, you will take personal responsibility, so it is important that you are a secure person and work from a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. You enjoy meeting people, are attentive and empathetic, and have a desire to collaborate to provide the best care and quality for our patients.

Qualifications

Trained healthcare assistant. Experience in stroke care, emergency care, or elderly care is an advantage. We also prefer that you have computer skills and can express yourself well in speech and writing.

Conditions

Working hours include shifts during the day, evening, and weekends.

Protected professional title for healthcare assistants: From July 1, 2023, the title healthcare assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title healthcare assistant in care and nursing.
