Description

Ward 6 at Kungälv Hospital is part of the Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation area. In the stroke unit, we primarily care for stroke patients but also have patients with other internal medical diagnoses.

Working Method

The ward has 16 beds, and as a nurse with us, you will work with the acute phase of the stroke process together with nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists in interdisciplinary teams.

All patients in the ward have their own rooms equipped with the latest technology in the field. Here, we actively work to ensure that all employees from different professions are offered the best conditions to utilize each other's and the patients' resources and competencies. The ward is equipped with an advanced patient call system that contributes to a quiet care environment.

In the role of a nurse, you will take responsibility, and it is therefore important that you are a confident person and work from a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. You enjoy meeting people, are attentive and empathetic, and have a desire to collaborate to provide the best care and quality for our patients. All newly hired nurses receive support during their first year through a mentor nurse.

Qualifications

Registered nurse. Experience in stroke care, emergency care, or elderly care is an advantage.

We prefer that you are computer literate and can express yourself well in speech and writing.

Clinical Base Year

For you who are a newly graduated nurse/radiology nurse, a Clinical Base Year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Base Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also includes shadowing in other departments to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an initiative aimed at giving you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
