About the Role

Do you want to take a key role in one of Sweden's most extensive industrial projects related to the construction of future steel production?

As a Block Manager in steel/assembly at NCC, you will have overall responsibility for planning, leading, and executing steel assembly in a complex and safety-critical steel mill environment. The role has a clear focus on assembly management, heavy lifting, and production of steel structures.

You are responsible for driving production forward – from establishment to final delivery – with a focus on quality, work environment, economy, and schedule. The role involves leading foremen, skilled workers, and subcontractors while ensuring that work is carried out efficiently and according to NCC's high safety standards.

You will be a central link between production, project management, and the customer, contributing to both stable delivery and business development.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the steel block within the project – planning, production, economy, and results.
  • Lead and develop the team of foremen and steel assemblers in daily operations.
  • Drive and coordinate assembly production with a focus on heavy lifting and steel installations.
  • Ensure that work follows NCC's requirements for work environment, safety, and quality.
  • Plan resources, material flows, and production setups in close collaboration with project management.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with customers and partners.
  • Drive improvement work and efficiencies in production.

You are not just a leader in production – you are a culture bearer who creates structure, security, and progress in an environment where safety and collaboration are crucial.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a confident and structured leader with experience from large and complex industrial projects and assembly of steel structures. You have the ability to build trust within the organization, drive production forward, and simultaneously ensure stability, quality, and progress in daily work on site.

You may currently be working as a site manager and want to take the next step in a larger industrial project – or you may already have experience leading the assembly of steel structures in complex environments.

We believe you have:

  • Several years of experience in leadership roles with personnel responsibility in steel assembly or heavy industry.
  • Documented experience in assembly management, heavy lifting, and production of steel structures.
  • Experience working according to SS-EN 1090, preferably with certification in TR-Steel.
  • Good understanding of production planning, economic follow-up, and risk management.
  • A present and communicative leadership style focused on safety and results.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Good IT skills, especially within the Office suite.
  • Courage and instinct to always do what is required and what is right.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the construction of steel mills or other heavy industrial production.
  • Knowledge of contract law and bidding processes.
  • Experience in change management in established organizations.

Location

The position is located in Luleå, where the role requires presence (40 hours per week on site) in production and close collaboration with the project organization.
