JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Water Engineer, you will work with water-related investigations from early stages to completed facilities within the drinking water area. In the early stages, this means that as the investigation/project manager, you will investigate, evaluate, and propose suitable methods and solutions. When the investigation/project then transitions into a design and execution/construction phase, you will participate as the technical manager and support in the project.

Your responsibilities include participating in and conducting various types of water projects/investigations/plans within the drinking water area, such as:

• Process technology/capacity issues
• Water protection areas
• Self-monitoring programs
• Continuity plan, Crisis preparedness plan
• Risk analyses
• Drinking water quality investigations
• Water plans, Water service plans
• Environmental and sustainability issues

Your role includes being the department's expert in environmental and food legislation, which means monitoring and investigating new legislation within the drinking water area and ensuring that it is communicated within the organization and that operations are conducted in compliance with the legislation. Some reporting is included in the position.

You will work within the Investigation/Planning unit, a unit within the street/water department. The unit is responsible for investigation and planning issues within the department's technical areas, namely street/park and water.

Your tasks also include meetings and contacts within the department, consultants, authorities, and various stakeholders, as well as preparing reports and other documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has curiosity and interest in legislation, new technology, innovative, and sustainable solutions. You possess a strong drive, which means you take initiative to achieve results. You have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.

You have a technical university degree in environmental technology/natural sciences or other education/experience deemed equivalent.

Good communication is central to your role, and your work includes delivering written reports and other documentation. Therefore, it is a requirement that you can express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

We prefer that you have good knowledge of environmental and/or food legislation, process technology, as well as experience in investigations within the water sector, preferably with previous experience in municipal water operations, as a consultant or within a supervisory authority.

Good computer skills and administrative abilities are required.

A valid driver's license is required as you will need to transport yourself by car for work.
