The Urban Environment Administration is responsible for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.

We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work at the administration.

The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, housing, and quality premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a planning leader with a maritime focus who wants to take overall responsibility for the city's facilities in aquatic environments. You will work closely with a colleague in a similar role, and together you will be responsible for the management of, for example, quays, docks, fenders, canal walls, dams, and ponds. Responsibilities will be divided between you, but you will collaborate closely in planning, prioritization, and development issues.

The role is broad and combines technology, planning, and coordination. You will work on:

• operating and maintaining facilities in a marine environment
• planning and prioritizing maintenance measures
• investigating technical issues
• leading projects and initiatives
• coordinating internal and external stakeholders
• procurement of consultants and contracts
• managing the budget within your area
• handling matters related to your area of responsibility

You will also serve as technical support within your area of expertise to other projects, administrations, companies, and colleagues within the city.

The work is varied and involves many contact points, both internally and externally. You will split your time between the office and the field. We offer flexible working hours and the possibility of some remote work. The role also provides an opportunity to help develop working methods and contribute to building and improving the operation.

The position is located in the unit for construction works and lighting, which consists of 14 dedicated and knowledgeable employees. Here, there is a strong team spirit, high technical competence, and a shared focus on developing the city's infrastructure sustainably.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• a degree as a civil engineer in Road and Water, or other equivalent education
• several years of experience as a client, consultant, or contractor
• experience in the maintenance of construction works, such as structures in road or water environments
• experience with the BaTMan system.
• a valid driver's license (B category).

Meritorious
It is an advantage if you also have:

• Traffic Agency's inspection training
• professional diving certification
• knowledge of LOU and AMA
• good skills in Excel and Word.

We are currently renovating our workplace at Köpmansgatan 20, where all urban development administrations will gather. The new premises are expected to be ready by 2026 – until then, we are located at Postgatan 10.
