Description

The Street Unit is responsible for a large part of the public environment, such as the municipality's streets, roads, pedestrian and bicycle paths, parks, playgrounds, and public places.

We also manage municipal bathing areas, forests, agricultural land, and water. Nature conservation and nature-related outdoor activities, as well as small boat harbors, berths, and flagging, are also within the responsibility of the Street Unit. Our traffic department is responsible for traffic and parking issues, including traffic safety and accessibility, traffic closure plans, permits, exemptions, and various forms of statements. Moving different vehicles, parking, parking supervision, and accessibility adaptations are also included.

Job Responsibilities

We work with the operation and maintenance of the municipality's public environment, such as streets, bike paths, and square areas, both centrally and in the municipality's outer districts. Our work includes stormwater management, paving, stone and slab laying, and signage. Tasks include machine sweeping, hand line marking, weed control with hot water, repairing gravel roads with a loader, fixing potholes with cold asphalt, working with temporary signage as well as maintaining existing signs within the municipality, receiving error reports, and handling them digitally, among other things.

We in the work team work independently and in groups with all tasks related to the work area.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have completed the high school construction and civil engineering program or equivalent education. You must have a B driver's license. Work on the road, level 1.3.

Meritorious qualifications include Hot Work certification, machine operator's license for wheel loaders, excavator operator's license, and experience in stone and slab laying as well as paving work. Experience in construction work, a C driver's license with YKB is also advantageous.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. To succeed in the job with us, you should also have good physical fitness. To perform the work successfully, you need to be meticulous, have good teamwork skills, and take independent responsibility for the execution of your tasks. In this position, you may come into contact with citizens or other stakeholders, so it is important that you are attentive and accommodating in your interactions and have a willingness to help others when needed.

Conditions

The position involves daytime work Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 16:00.
