About us

Ward 17 is an inpatient department where we care for premature infants from gestational week 28 as well as sick newborns and their families.

We have 13 care places distributed across two intensive care rooms and eleven family rooms. As we are the only neonatal department in Halland, we receive children from the deliveries in Halmstad and Varberg. In our department, we also have a neonatal outpatient clinic as well as a home healthcare unit and neonatal transport service.

About the position

As a nurse in the pediatric and adolescent clinic, you will work in an open and positive environment. Our work is based on a family-centered approach with the small child in focus. Our care philosophy is based on individually tailored developmental support and family-centered care.

You will work closely with other professional categories with a focus on the children and their families, a collaboration characterized by commitment, curiosity, and above all warmth and care. We have a structured way of working and strive towards common goals. Caring for each other and the patients and families we care for lays the foundation for a workplace where we thrive.

The various professional categories that collaborate around the family are pediatric nurses, child nurses/nursing assistants, doctors, as well as social workers, psychologists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists.

Our values contribute to creating a common approach and a shared ethical platform for how we provide good evidence-based nursing and together create a safe and good working environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in pediatric/neonatal care. Further education in pediatrics or intensive care is meritorious; for newly graduated nurses, it is part of the plan to pursue this eventually.

We value commitment and a genuine interest in doing good for our patients and their families. Good collaboration skills are important, and another quality we highly value is good communication and the ability to adapt your work to different situations. You will actively and regularly contribute suggestions for improvements and contribute to a good working climate in the workplace. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
