Care Assistants or Nursing Assistants Needed at Ängegården

The Care and Social Services Administration in Östersund Municipality is now seeking nursing assistants or care assistants for Ängegården. It is a pleasant special accommodation located in central Brunflo. The accommodation has six departments with a total of 50 places for residents and eight places for short-term stays. Each department has balconies and a common area for meals, activities, and social interaction. There is also a cozy outdoor area in the courtyard. In the same building, there are a dentist, health center, and pharmacy.

You will be part of a dedicated team with good opportunities for collegial support, as we have close cooperation and a good community. Together, we work to ensure that every citizen receives safe care of good quality in a pleasant environment.

We are now looking for four nursing assistants or care assistants at 80%, with the possibility of increased working hours within the administration. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Your New Job

As a nursing assistant or care assistant at Ängegården, you will work with personal care and service for the citizens living there. You will work to promote the physical, mental, and social health of the citizens. Your mission is to support the citizens and facilitate their daily lives. You provide personal care based on individual needs and perform delegated health and medical care tasks such as specific care and rehabilitation. The role also includes being a contact person, which means specifically being responsible for certain citizens and their care.

You will collaborate with nursing assistants, care assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, coordinators, assistant unit managers, and unit managers. Another important part of your work is to regularly document in our operational systems.

Common Tasks

• Assist citizens with personal hygiene and basic care
• Offer citizens a meaningful day through various activities
• Prepare for meals and prepare lighter meals
• Support during transfers
• Administer medication according to medical delegation and prescription
• Delegated health and medical care tasks such as simple wound care and management of urinary catheters
• Care documentation
• Contact person responsibilities

Your Qualifications

Requirements

• 1 year of work experience in elderly care
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

Desirable

• Trained nursing assistant
• Trained care assistant
• Experience with elderly and dementia patients
• Knowledge of nutrition and meal work
• Good computer skills
