Procurement Officer at the National Board of Health and Welfare

The National Board of Health and Welfare is Sweden's expert authority for the health, care, and welfare sector. The authority is also responsible for sector oversight and emergency preparedness, working in that role with supply preparedness for, among other things, pharmaceuticals and other healthcare products. With us, you will have the opportunity to work in many different areas, such as health and medical care, social services, IT, and supply preparedness. In your daily work, you will meet and support engaged clients with high competence, often experts in their respective fields.
About the position
We are looking for someone who wants to work with public affairs in a workplace that is in the midst of change and development. Our unit has broad expertise in the procurement area, including business acumen, procurement and contract law, and security-protected procurement.
As a procurement officer, you will be responsible for providing support and project-managing procurements in close collaboration with clients and experts. Our larger categories are IT, preparedness, and services with a strong focus on health and medical care. We are about to develop our procurement organization. Together with colleagues in the unit, such as procurement officers, procurement coordinators, and procurement lawyers, you will participate in exciting procurement development, be able to influence how the business is conducted, develop new forms of collaboration, and educate others in the organization about procurement.

About you
To succeed in this role, you are analytical and structured and can work independently. You are pedagogical with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Collaborating and building good relationships internally and externally is important to you. As a procurement officer at the National Board of Health and Welfare, you have a supportive and advisory role, so it is important that you have a consultative approach. Objectivity and impartiality are obvious starting points for you.

We are looking for someone who has
- a university degree in economics, law, procurement, technology, or equivalent education or experience that the authority finds relevant.
- at least 3 years of experience in public procurement and is well acquainted with the entire procurement process.
- good knowledge of procurement regulations, primarily LOU.
- experience in project management and executing procurement work and working with commercial contracts.
It is an advantage if you have
- good theoretical and practical knowledge of security protection legislation and/or data protection and have worked with security-protected procurements
- experience in IT procurements
- experience in working with supply preparedness
- experience and good knowledge of the business perspective in procurements
- experience and good knowledge of systematic contract follow-up
- experience in strategic work and business development in the procurement area
Good to know
The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be based at the office at Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but you have the opportunity to work remotely up to two days a week. In the spring of 2027, the authority will move to newly renovated premises in Solna strand. Your job title will be procurement officer and your placement will be in the procurement unit.
The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen but may have a foreign background.
