Service Manager for IT Infrastructure and Security
You will drive the development of the city's digital infrastructure, create modern and innovative solutions, and contribute to ensuring that operations run smoothly, securely, and efficiently, today and for the future.
Your Responsibilities
Your position is located in the Digitalization Unit at the City Management Office. Together with the other service managers in the unit, you have overall responsibility for the city's central technical platforms. You ensure that deliveries work smoothly for the operations and switch between strategic and tactical work, with some operational tasks such as invoice management and cost monitoring.
You are responsible for the city's shared IT infrastructure solutions. The assignment includes both management and long-term strategic development. You ensure that the infrastructure and associated services keep pace with market and technology developments, so they remain cost-effective and optimized for the operational digitalization needs. Particular focus is on ensuring strong security solutions, both from an operational and information security perspective.
An important part of the role is supplier management, as all IT operations are outsourced. This means you ensure that deliveries occur according to agreements regarding time, quality, and cost. You translate the operational needs into clear technical requirements and assist the operations in ongoing improvement work, for example during requirement formulations for procurements.
You continuously keep yourself updated on new technologies and trends. In this way, you ensure a modern and secure IT environment for the city.
Your Competence
We are looking for someone with an academic background in IT or other education combined with work experience that we consider equivalent. You have experience leading and being responsible for critical IT infrastructure in a larger organization, as well as supplier dialogue and contract compliance. You also have good knowledge of IT and information security and a solid understanding of ITIL processes.
Experience with the Public Procurement Act, the PM3 management model, and having led larger development and implementation projects are advantageous.
You are engaged, self-driven, and proactive, work in a structured and solution-oriented manner, and have a good understanding of the operational needs, finances, and cost-effectiveness. At the same time, you find it easy to collaborate, build relationships, and communicate clearly in both Swedish and English.
We Offer
With us, you will be part of an engaged team with diverse competencies, where the two other service managers will be your closest colleagues. The role gives you the opportunity to work independently, with colleagues within the organization and with external actors. You will use and develop your skills in various contexts and help shape the city's digital environment.
The Digitalization Unit is the city's hub for IT and digitalization. It combines support and governance in technical development. Here, everyday life is characterized more by innovation than management, and through close collaboration, we benefit from our combined expertise in technology, processes, and operational development.
We believe in trust and freedom under responsibility, which means you plan your workday, have flexible hours, and the opportunity to work partially remotely.
Here, you become part of something bigger. With warmth and respect, we show decisiveness in both large and small matters. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues throughout the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
