Job Responsibilities
As a social worker within the Health, Care and Social Services Administration, ordinary housing unit, you will work to investigate the needs of individuals, make decisions about interventions, and annually follow up on the quality of these interventions. Daily tasks include handling incoming phone calls, documentation, individual meetings, coordinated individual planning, and collaboration with other actors both internally and externally. Your tasks also include working with colleagues on development work to improve the quality of the operations.
The unit consists of about 60 social workers who work on a date-based schedule. Our unit has access to three senior social workers. This means that they regularly hold case supervision sessions that you can participate in, and they are available to guide and support you in your work. With us, you will find a positive and engaged work group and a strong collegial support and collaboration with close leadership.
Within the unit, we learn from each other with the aim of providing our citizens with good and legally secure processing and service.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in social work (210 credits)
- Has experience in authority exercise under the Social Services Act (SoL)
- Is proficient in using a computer as a work tool and aid, and has the willingness and ability to quickly familiarize themselves with new programs and systems
- Can cycle
- Can express themselves well in both spoken and written Swedish
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with applicable legislation in the field and the ability to clearly and concisely justify your decisions.
- Experience working with the elderly target group
- Experience with adults with physical and/or mental disabilities, somatic illnesses, and persons with dementia
- Experience in collaboration between authorities
- Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- A manual driving license
We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to social work and a genuine interest in social issues and the target group we serve. You value the interaction with users and see it as a central part of successful social work. Your approach is professional, you have good collaboration skills, and you show understanding and interest in other people. You are responsible and take initiative, can work independently, make decisions, and ensure that tasks are completed within set deadlines while maintaining calm in pressured situations.
Furthermore, you are structured and have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You work result-oriented with a strong user focus and always strive to create positive changes. Additionally, you have a strong drive where you are expected to contribute to the development of the operations.
About the Workplace
The Authority department consists of about 190 employees divided into three units: SVU/short-term, ordinary housing, and the unit for fees, mediation, and housing. We have several different professional categories gathered within the authority: managers, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, administrators, and development secretaries. Since January 2020, we have been located in newly renovated premises centrally located in Malmö, Storgatan 20, with good public transport connections.
