JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Kriminalvården provides certain open health and medical care with an increased focus on psychiatry. At the prison, we have employed nurses and psychologists, as well as consulting doctors and psychiatrists.

As a psychologist, you will be responsible for the psychological treatment work at Västervik Norra Prison. You will conduct clinical assessments and map clients' needs, as well as implement individually tailored interventions. The role includes providing psychological treatment and conducting neuropsychiatric assessments with inmates. You will also supervise staff as needed to strengthen a professional approach and equip your colleagues with knowledge and tools regarding clients' issues and conditions.

The work involves independent and varied tasks at both the individual and group levels. Collaboration with other healthcare staff and external actors is a natural and important part of the job, as is being informed about applicable laws and Kriminalvården's regulations, as well as maintaining a high level of security in your daily work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in psychology. You have a good ability to work in a team with general practitioners, psychiatrists, and nurses, as well as collaborate with both other staff and external actors. You are secure, stable, have good self-awareness, and can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You should be able to plan, organize, and carry out your work independently. The position as a psychologist in Kriminalvården requires good judgment and high integrity. Flexibility, responsiveness, and curiosity are also important personal qualities. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

It is important for us that you share Kriminalvården's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and faith in people's will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed psychologist
• Has training in CBT methodology
• Has experience in structured assessment and treatment work
• Has experience working with CBT methodology
• Has a very good ability to express themselves appropriately for the target group in speech and writing in Swedish
• Has good administrative skills

It is advantageous if you have:

• Training as a specialist in clinical adult psychology or psychological treatment and/or psychotherapy training
• Training in neuropsychiatry, diagnostics
• Training in consultation methodology/supervision
• Experience in psychological testing, diagnostics
• Work experience from psychiatry, habilitation
• Work experience from Kriminalvården or related fields
• Good knowledge of Kriminalvården's client system
