JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Burgården, we educate for reality, and just like in reality, our school is a bustling world, with many specializations, people, and meetings. We offer vocational programs, university preparatory programs, and introductory programs. We are a multicultural school with 1400 students from all districts and surrounding municipalities. Here, future hairdressers and fashion designers mingle with support assistants, nursing assistants, social scientists, childcare workers, natural scientists, and animal caretakers. In the role of student assistant, you will work with an individual student and support them in both their schoolwork and throughout the entire school day. This means that you will follow the student during their entire school day and be present in both lessons and breaks to facilitate transitions for the student. You will support the student by introducing new elements and interpreting tasks. The student is enrolled in a high school program that includes both theoretical and practical components. You will collaborate closely with the special educator and the student's teaching teacher to provide the best conditions for the student to develop and succeed in their studies.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a good ability to collaborate with teachers, student health, and the home for the student's best interest. You should be clear and structured. Additionally, you need to have good social skills, be flexible, have great patience, and be persistent. You need to have the ability to motivate and persuade, as well as find new ways and solutions to achieve goals. To work with young people, it is important that you are a role model and a boundary-setting adult.

To succeed in this role, you have several years of experience in a similar type of work and feel confident in your professional practice. We prefer that you have previously worked within upper secondary school. Experience working with students who have neuropsychiatric disabilities is an advantage. As a student assistant, you have a lot of patience and understanding for the different conditions of individuals. You are also skilled at finding individualized solutions to help the student reach their goals. As a colleague, you are flexible and self-driven, but also enjoy working in a team with other colleagues. You have a genuine interest in helping students structure their work and develop their potential. Personal suitability is of great importance.

This position is a fixed-term employment at 100% at Burgårdens Gymnasium.
