The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården is a newly started operation that currently consists of two departments but will expand to five departments with a total of 33 places in 2025.

Job Description

As a teacher with us, you will teach in small groups with extra adaptations based on each student's needs. Almost all teaching occurs within the framework of the introductory program. We have our students for shorter or longer periods, and it is important to maintain a positive attitude and belief in each individual's potential for development. The varying experiences and results from previous schooling mean that teaching can be both motivational and knowledge-transmitting.

Your role includes teaching as well as being a mentor. Occasionally, guidance for students in other subjects will be required.

You will plan, implement, follow up, and document the teaching. You will collaborate with and receive support from other professionals such as career counselors, department heads, treatment secretaries, treatment pedagogues, and psychologists. Tasks related to safety, special authorizations, and the physical work environment may occur.

Teaching in Lidköping will also be part of the position.

• You should be attracted by the opportunity to teach and build trusting pedagogical relationships in smaller teaching groups consisting of students with psychosocial issues and criminality. It is important that you can identify and meet the student's needs with high realistic expectations and motivate and guide the student towards their goals.
• We would like you to be unpretentious, flexible, able to set and maintain boundaries respectfully, and have faith that all students can find a path to education and work.
• Previous work within introductory programs, as well as work within special teaching groups, is particularly meritorious.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
