Your tasks

As a nurse at Åleryd short-term care, you work independently with medical assessments, plan interventions, and follow up on patients' health status. Short-term care is an operation where needs can change quickly, and you use your medical expertise in many different situations. Your work includes, for example, medication management, wound care, tube feeding, sampling, and assessment of vital functions. You are also responsible for admissions and discharges and maintain close contact with hospitals, care managers, and relatives.

Part of your mission is to guide, delegate, and educate the nursing staff to ensure safe and secure care. You continuously work with incident management and quality registers and actively contribute to the development work within the organization. Every week, you participate in rounds with doctors from US, where you lead the work based on your knowledge of patients' needs and care planning.

Your workplace

Åleryd nursing home houses several operations where the short-term departments consist of four units with different focuses: two for dementia and two for somatic care. You will work in one of these departments and be part of a team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, specialist nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and the operations manager. Together, we create a work environment where collaboration, communication, and quality are in focus.

As part of the team, you participate in the quality council and the local management group where we jointly work to follow up on quality, develop routines, and plan training initiatives. Åleryd also offers a pleasant environment with an inviting courtyard and experience garden where both patients and staff can spend time. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 16:30.

You who are applying

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse in Sweden. It is an advantage if you have experience working or have done practical training in elderly care. We also consider it an advantage if you have previously worked as a nurse, especially within municipal healthcare, but it is not a requirement.

As the work involves documentation and contacts with patients and relatives, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both written and spoken. You also need to have experience with some documentation and record-keeping system. A B driver's license is required, as well as the ability to cycle.

As a person, you work well with others, listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. Furthermore, you have the ability to lead and coordinate work by creating engagement and participation. You also understand how individuals absorb knowledge and can therefore adapt how you convey information to achieve common goals.

In your work, you can plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks and easily adapt to changing circumstances. You make accurate assessments and have the ability to weigh complex information and various considerations.
