The neurology section is part of the area of operations (VO) neurology rehabilitation medicine memory diseases geriatrics at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), with operations in Lund and Malmö. We conduct clinical activities in both outpatient and inpatient care with emergency and standby services around the clock. A significant part of the work is carried out within multiprofessional specialist teams. The section also conducts extensive research activities in areas such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and movement disorders. Teaching is offered to students and healthcare personnel across all professional categories.

As a resident physician in neurology at Sus, you will work in a unit with a wide range and balance between general neurological care for our local area and highly specialized care for the Southern healthcare region. We have multidisciplinary teams for epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), ALS, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, dystonia, and neuro-oncology. There is close collaboration with neurosurgery, neuro-intensive care, rehabilitation medicine, cognitive medicine, neuroradiology, and neurophysiology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a resident physician for the neurology section in Lund. Here, you will have the opportunity to achieve broad neurological competence. The content of the position follows the goal description that has been developed. The structure of the position will be arranged in consultation with the section chief, ST study director, and supervisors at the section. The position also includes teaching medical students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale are required. Previous experience of work or research in neurology is an advantage.

We believe that you are a person who enjoys making decisions and can act as a team leader when required. You are interested in leadership and have an easy time collaborating. Additionally, you have good communication and teamwork skills. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
