The surgeon in Helsingborg is looking for two resident doctors who want to specialize in surgery, as well as a licensed physician for a one-year temporary position.

The surgical department operates at both Helsingborg Hospital and Ängelholm Hospital. The department includes sections for emergency surgery, upper/lower gastrointestinal surgery, breast/melanoma surgery, and vascular surgery. The department has a large patient base for both emergency and elective surgery and is at the forefront both technically and scientifically in several areas. We have an active role in the education sector and conduct parts of the practical and theoretical components of nursing and medical training. Within the department, we provide care at two inpatient wards in Helsingborg and outpatient clinics in Ängelholm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

For those applying for the positions as resident doctors, training will occur within the framework of the residency program with a personal supervisor and an individually tailored residency plan. Even during a possible probationary employment, a supervisor will be provided, meaning this period can be credited towards the residency position if it transitions into a permanent position. Basic training (BT) will not be offered within the framework of the residency positions as Region Skåne applies independent BT.

The temporary position will involve the usual tasks associated with a surgical department.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed physician authorized to practice in Swedish healthcare. Language proficiency in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. If you lack formal education in Sweden, your knowledge of the Swedish language must be documented separately and will also be tested.

For the temporary position, completion of BT is not a requirement if you have completed equivalent AT in another Nordic country or within the EU.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience with good references from similar positions. Previous medical experience, other medical qualifications, research merits, additional language skills beyond Swedish, and experience with the Melior journal system are also advantageous.

As a person, you are responsible, put the patient at the center, and have a genuine interest in surgery. You contribute to a good working environment through a high ability to collaborate and a good attitude towards both colleagues and patients. Personal suitability is highly valued.
