System Engineer with a Focus on Air Base Material

Do you want to contribute to building Sweden's crisis and war capabilities? We have a position for you – the aviation technical unit is recruiting a System Engineer with a focus on Air Base Material.
Aviation Technical Unit, 24. Flight Systems Section (FSS)
The Flight Systems Section (FSS) is responsible for the management of continued airworthiness (LFL), corresponding to the civilian Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO). FSS is also responsible for the corresponding regulations within air base material and aviation safety material. The Flight Systems Section includes operational engineers, planning engineers, material planners, and technical accounting officers. The section is part of the technical organization of the flight operator, functionally led by the central technical manager. You will support all areas of the section's assignments over time and the helicopter squadron's mission at large.
Main Responsibilities
We are now looking for a system engineer for air base material. The system engineer is the link between the units and the Technical Chief of Material Systems (TCM) regarding technical system support and deviation management. Air base material includes Field Maintenance, Readiness, Fire and Rescue, Fuel, and Load Handling with all specific equipment and vehicles belonging to these areas. The system engineer should maintain good contact with users and the vehicle workshop, to compile, investigate, report deviations, and propose improvements based on their fault reporting.
As an employee of the Swedish Armed Forces, you have physical requirements to maintain, and three hours per work week should be dedicated to physical training.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Degree from a 3-year technical high school that the employer deems relevant.
- Ability to express oneself well in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license (manual transmission).
- Good computer skills.
Personal Attributes
We prefer that the applicant is structured, analytical, and collaborative. You should have the ability to independently drive issues within the work area. Good ability to report in writing, document, and perform investigations and assessments of air base material. In the selection process, great emphasis will be placed on personal attributes.

MERITORIOUS
- Post-secondary engineering education that the employer deems relevant.
- Experience and knowledge of FM special vehicles.
- Experience and knowledge of trucks, field maintenance vehicles, tankers, or rescue vehicles.
- C/CE license.
- Current and relevant experience in operational follow-up.
- Current and relevant experience in operational follow-up and support systems such as PRIO (technical service) and LIFT.
- Experience in systems safety work.
Other
Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority. Employment rate: Full-time. Work location: Linköping, Malmslätt. Business trips may occur, both nationally and internationally. Employment relationship: Civil employment. Start date: 2026-05-01 or by agreement.
