Safety Equipment Technician at the Air Combat School

The Swedish Armed Forces' Air Combat School (LSS) is seeking a Safety Equipment Technician for the Central Workshop for training equipment at the Flight School in Linköping and the Human in the Flight System department (MIFS).

About the Unit

The main task of the MIFS department is to train the Swedish Armed Forces' flying crews in flight physiology and survival. As part of this task, MIFS manages its own training equipment and materials in what is called the Central Workshop for training equipment (CVÖ). At CVÖ, maintenance and packing of airborne survival equipment for training and exercises are carried out.

The Flight School is located at the Linköping garrison but is part of the Air Combat School, which is the Air Force's joint competence center for education and development. The head of the Air Combat School and staff is located at the Uppsala garrison.

Main Responsibilities

You will report to the head of the MIFS Department and will primarily serve at CVÖ but may be assigned to other tasks within the framework of MIFS-Avd.

You will work with preventive and planned maintenance on airborne training equipment such as helmets, life vests, isolation suits, and emergency equipment packs, etc. You will be responsible for corrective maintenance when equipment breaks down and needs to be replaced or repaired, as well as for fitting equipment to pilots and other crew members.

Storekeeping is part of the job, and heavy lifting occurs, both with and without a forklift. Part of the job is to accompany exercises that take place in various locations in the country and abroad.

Qualifications

You are service-oriented and have an easy time making new contacts both within and outside your own organization. A prerequisite for successfully managing the tasks is that you are structured and meticulous and that you enjoy supporting others.

We are looking for an individual who is prepared to work in a varied environment. As a safety equipment technician, it is important to be thorough, cooperative, technically interested, and flexible, as the position places high demands on safety and problem-solving. You should be able to work independently within the framework of the technical service and take the responsibility that comes with being a safety equipment technician.
