Psychologist for Parent and Child Health Care

Responsibilities

As a psychologist with us, you will work with the target group of expectant parents and children aged 0-6 years and their parents. The tasks include, among other things, counseling contacts with expectant and new parents, parental support and advice for parents, as well as assessments of individual children during preschool years. The work also includes consultation with staff within maternal health care and child health care. We have a flexible working method and offer patient visits at the clinic, digital healthcare meetings, and phone consultations.

About the Workplace

The Parent and Child Health Care Psychologists are organized in their own unit and currently consist of 12 psychologists and one administrative officer. The unit is located in Västerås but works with health centers throughout Västmanland County, and travel within the county is included in the position. The work is conducted in accordance with the Primary Care Program in Västmanland, and we strive to offer equivalent care of good quality. Continuous improvement and development work is ongoing in the unit with the aim of improving care for our patients. The unit is located within walking and cycling distance to Västerås central station and the city center, and there is parking and good bus connections directly adjacent to the clinic.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You need to be interested in working with children and parents, and if you have experience working as a psychologist with parents and children, we see it as an advantage. We work largely digitally, so it is important that you have basic computer skills. Travel within the county occurs, so a B driver's license is desirable.

It is important for you to create good and secure relationships in meetings with parents, children, and colleagues. You have a responsive, empathetic approach and are clear in your communication. You have a good ability to plan and organize your work and can independently drive your work forward. You also have the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances. Employment Conditions

Temporary employment until January 31, 2026, full-time. Working hours are weekdays during the day. Start date as soon as possible.
