AT Training Position at Region Östergötland

Job Description

Your AT begins with a joint introductory week, followed by inpatient placements that start with a clinic-related introduction to each placement. Your training is divided between the central and western parts of the county. Professional development is provided in the form of a training program for AT, regular clinic-related education, joint seminar days for all AT doctors in the county, and a training fund of 20,000 SEK. We also have three appreciated AT specializations: research AT, pedagogical AT, and psychiatry AT at both hospitals.

Research AT

Research AT means that doctors undergoing general training (AT) can combine regular clinical general training with up to 6 months of research at Linköping University (LiU). In addition to being eligible for general training, active research at LiU is a prerequisite for obtaining research AT. Pedagogical AT

As part of pedagogical AT, the AT doctor conducts their own improvement work and deepens their knowledge in patient pedagogy, student pedagogy, and pedagogical leadership. Psychiatry AT

Psychiatry AT offers the opportunity for in-depth training in psychiatry through optional placements in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. Applications for this occur after the AT has begun. For more information (HERE).

About You

You have a Swedish medical degree or approval from the National Board of Health and Welfare to complete AT. Language skills equivalent to Swedish C1. If you have a foreign degree, you must have completed Swedish societal and constitutional knowledge. Experience from medical internships, other relevant education, research, local connections, and/or other professional experience is meritorious.

We are looking for someone with good self-awareness. You need to have good judgment and the ability to make decisions. You are easy to collaborate with, have good leadership skills, and a desire to contribute to developing the organization together with us. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Information about the Recruitment Process

A complete application includes an attached CV and a copy of your medical degree or SoS approval (if graduating in June 2026, the application will be supplemented if an offer is made). Note that specific documents must be attached for pedagogical and research AT, see the respective sections above. Proof of approved language level Swedish C1 must be attached if applicable. Region Östergötland does not require a cover letter in the application, but instead asks you to answer the selection questions.

The recruitment process will proceed quickly during weeks 10 and 11. At the end of the application period, we will invite candidates for interviews. Employment interviews will be conducted from March 3-6 and March 9-11. Notifications will be sent out at the end of week 11.
